In our newsletter today, we would like to share some exciting news with you!  The Ministry for Pacific Peoples (MPP) has released a Request for a Proposal (RFP) for the expansion of its Pacific Business Village.  MPP established the Pacific Business Village to as a place for Pacific Business Networks and Pacific Service Providers to promote and enhance the economic development of Pacific businesses and social enterprises.
 
MPP is seeking proposals from Pacific Service Providers to join the Pacific Business Village, ultimately, to support Pacific businesses to develop practical business acumen to ensure self- sustainability and longevity.  If you are interested in delivering business capability and support services to assist Pacific businesses, please read on!

Pacific Business Village - RFP

The Pacific Business Village was established by the Ministry for Pacific Peoples to provide an economic development model for Pacific businesses and social enterprises.  The Village is composed of Network Providers and Service Providers.
 
Network Providers “coordinate, identify, and build relationships with Service Providers to support Pacific businesses.” The Wellington Pasifika Business Network is a Network Provider.
 
Service Providers “build capability and capacity of Pacific businesses”.
 
MPP is seeking proposals from Pacific Service Providers to join the Pacific Business Village.  As a Service Provider in the Pacific Business Village, through Network Providers, you will provide advice to other Pacific businesses to:
 
  • Create opportunities for sustained growth to increase economic prosperity.
  • Establish and improve pathways for increasing productivity and Pacific peoples’ participation in the labour market.
  • Enable more successful and sustainable Pacific entrepreneurs and Pacific-owned businesses.
  • Strengthen relationships with the Pacific business sector and social enterprise to increase the range of services and products available.

E-Commerce learning opportunities

Ka Hao and Pacific Trade Invest NZ are offering an amazing E-Commerce learning opportunity.
 
Scholarships worth $30,570 are available for an 12-week course, where participants can learn from the Ka Hao business training organisation.
 
There are still places and scholarships available in the course. Registrations close on 12 December 2022.
 
The Ka Hao E-Commerce programme will involve workshops, peer learning through a systems-based approach to website build, maintenance, marketing, driving traffic, managing customer base, reaching new markets, managing online sales, and much more.

It Takes A Village

It Takes A Village will be touring the North Island with their hand painted/crafted Māori and Polynesian cultural resources. They will be in Porirua on:
  • Friday 13 & Saturday 14 January 2023
At the City Hub 7 Selby Place, Porirua CBD (next door to F45 in the City Centre)
 
There will be a few prizes for those who visit and enter into their draws.
